SWITCH TO MICROCART

Give your store a new foundation.

Plan your move around the data you want to keep. Shopify offers a CSV route and, where available, an API connection. For Ecwid, first discuss your export files and import approach. Try MicroCart free for 14 days.

You have built something. Make room for what comes next.

Create one transfer list covering products, variants, customers, pages and the order history you need. For each, record the source, record count and who will check the result. Keep the original exports for comparison.

Your photography, product stories and brand remain your starting point. Choose the content to keep and give it a recognisable place in your new design.

Move step by step. Keep building your store.

First choose the route that fits your source platform. Coordinate data transfer, store setup and checks before choosing a launch date.

01

Choose your import approach

Gather your export files and list the products, customers and pages you want to keep. First confirm which data your chosen import approach can process.

02

Check a sample import first

Include a simple product and a product with variants in the agreed test import. Compare counts, SKUs, prices and images with your source file. Record and resolve differences before transferring the rest.

03

Build your new store

Shape your collection with a template and the visual editor. Work on pages, payments, shipping and suitable workflows.

04

Check before you launch

Complete a controlled test order through to confirmation. Compare the product, variant, total, shipping charge and payment status with the order in the admin. After switching the domain, check that important old links reach the correct new page.

Check these before you go live.

Check data, images, store configuration and links separately. A successful import does not yet mean your store is ready for customers.

Make a plan for your existing pages.

List important pages and URLs. Discuss suitable new destinations and 301 redirects if addresses change. Implementation depends on your current setup and the chosen solution.

Build at your own pace first.

MicroCart costs €39.95 per store per month, excluding VAT. All MicroCart apps and B2B are included. You can try it free for 14 days. Discuss any additional migration work; payment providers and external services have their own fees.

Questions about your switch.

Which approach suits my platform?

For Shopify, use CSV import or an API connection where available. For Ecwid, first have export files and import options assessed. The route depends on the data you need.

How does transferring my store data work?

List your products, variants, customers, pages and the order history you need. Check which data your chosen route supports. Set up design, apps, payments and shipping separately.

Can I keep my domain name?

Bring your domain name and details about domain management. Discuss the intended setup and when to switch. The changes needed depend on your current provider and domain settings.

What happens to my pages and search visibility?

List important pages, URLs and content. Plan suitable destinations for changing addresses and discuss permanent redirects. Check links and indexing after the switch. Search rankings can change; retaining them is not guaranteed.

How long does a switch take?

Timing depends on your export, import approach and checks. Allow time for your new design, integrations and a test order. Agree a switchover date after those checks.
