A collection with character deserves its own story.

Separate your Ecwid catalog from the website around it. Keep product exports, your own copy and original images. List the menus, forms and pages belonging to your existing website or Instant Site separately.

Your photography, product stories and brand remain your starting point. Choose the content to keep and give it a recognisable place in your new design.

Use your existing collection as a starting point for your own store design. Agree the data transfer approach first.

A clear subscription.

Your path from Ecwid to Microcart.

Do you use an embedded Ecwid store or Instant Site? Map the surrounding pages and links alongside your store data, so you can plan the transfer and website setup together.

01

Prepare your move

Have a small Ecwid export assessed first, with a simple product and a product with variants. Explain the columns. Agree which data can be processed and which you will need to add manually.

02

Check a sample import first

Include a simple product and a product with variants in the agreed test import. Compare counts, SKUs, prices and images with your source file. Record and resolve differences before transferring the rest.

03

Give your collection one new design

Give your transferred data a new store design with the template and editor. Configure payments, shipping, integrations and suitable workflows. Review which content from your current website or Instant Site you want to reshape too.

04

Check your new store and old links

Complete a controlled test order through to confirmation. Compare the product, variant, total, shipping charge and payment status with the order in the admin. After switching the domain, check that important old links reach the correct new page.

Check your store before launch.

Check data, images, store configuration and links separately. A successful import does not yet mean your store is ready for customers.

Give your Ecwid store and website one URL plan.

Gather the URLs of your Ecwid store and any website that embeds it. Plan new destinations for products and pages. Discuss 301 redirects where addresses change and check links from the old website.

Explore MicroCart during your trial.

MicroCart costs €39.95 per store per month, excluding VAT. All MicroCart apps and B2B are included. MicroCart charges no transaction fee. Payment providers and external services charge their own fees.

Questions about switching from Ecwid.

How do I prepare my Ecwid data?

An Ecwid export is not automatically a suitable MicroCart import. Have columns, variants, images and any customer or order data reviewed first. Agree what can be processed and what needs to be rebuilt separately.

What changes for an embedded Ecwid store?

Map out the website around your Ecwid store too. Embedded stores and Instant Site each have pages, links and settings to reassess. Your website, apps and payment settings do not automatically become a working MicroCart store.

Can I switch from Ecwid Instant Site?

Use Instant Site as a reference for your new design. Keep texts and original images, list page URLs and plan your domain and checkout again. Have store-data processing assessed separately.

What about transaction fees after Ecwid?

MicroCart charges no platform transaction surcharge. You can configure Mollie or Stripe; your payment provider charges its own fees. Compare your complete payment setup and configure it before launch.

What should I check after the Ecwid migration?

Check transferred store data, your range, prices and product presentation. Set up payments and shipping and test an order. Plan website and store URLs, discuss permanent redirects and test links. Discuss specific historical data or exceptions you need.

What does switching from Ecwid cost?

MicroCart costs €39.95 per store per month, excluding VAT. All MicroCart apps and B2B are included. You can try it free for 14 days. Discuss any additional migration work; payment providers and external services have their own fees.
